Eurydema (Eurydema) oleracea – Also called the Cabbage Bug, this is a new visitor to the garden for me. Another one of the shieldbugs/stink bugs, but this one has a red colour form, too, which I have not seen. Double-click image to enlarge.

Another little cutie. I get a couple of different stink bug species but none with this appearance.

I think the hotter sun is bringing them all out over here now. I have seen another 2 different species today.

Wow. Who knew that shield bugs come in so many colors and varieties? My personal favorite one where I live is the colorfully-named Twice-stabbed Stinkbug. (https://michaelqpowell.com/2012/07/23/twice-stabbed-stink-bug-captured-alive/)

I think we have around 45 species of shieldbug here, so I still have plenty to get through 🙂

He’s ready for battle with his armor on! What type of plant is he wandering around on? It’s beautiful and interesting. Nice shot, Pete!

Thank you, Sandra! 🙂 I keep a small plant pot in which I grow moss, and that is what it is on.

Unusual one, is it new to the country or your garden? Coincidentally I saw a plain old green one today.

A new one for the garden, Brian. Never seen it before. They come in bright red, too., but not seen that one yet.
