There are 1, 246 species of flora, fauna and fungi featured on ‘Nature Journeys’ and counting. The hope is to stimulate awareness and interest in the natural world so we may all come to respect it more and preserve it for future generations to appreciate and enjoy.

Beautiful! I have an affinity for decaying wood – during this drought we see a lot of it. Old wood like this has so much to tell.

Weathered wood provides endless inspiration for the alert observer. I’ve found myself equally drawn to the forms that result from the journeys of driftwood, and delight in looking for interesting pieces on any new beach.

Tree grain can be so beautiful whether a weathered old tree crotch or a busy burl. This one looks like a bird.
