Love the background, Pete. It really helps to show off that moth. How big is the moth? You do such wonderful macro shots that it is hard to have a sense of the size of some of the creatures that you feature.

Thank you very much Mike. This moth is one of the bigger ones and during the day they are pretty docile and will just sit on your thumb if you let them.

No fashion designer could have done a better job of coordinating flower and moth; it’s really a beautiful moth, made even more striking by its chosen perch.

This is one of my favourite moths. Seen in the dark they are like pale ghosts floating through the air.
