
These are the first of the Large Red Damselfly Pyrrhosoma nymphula I have seen around my garden pond this season.

At least I can tell the difference between damselflies and dragonflies now — “the eyes have it”!

And the way they fly. They are quite weak fliers compared to dragonflies.
