That web does give the spider a bit of an advantage: important when dealing with something like that wasp! It’s a great capture, Pete. (Well — the spider’s capture was pretty great, too.)
I have noticed the wasps have become bold or desperate and they have been attempting to grab food parcels out of various spider webs, some sucessful, some not.
