Beautiful little insects and fun to inspect them up close. Do they do much damage? LikeLiked by 1 person Reply
Thank you, Annie π Not really. The roses bloom pretty well, and the ladybirds and lacewings help keep numbers down. LikeLiked by 1 person Reply
Ark you really made me laugh then! They sure are superheroes, and thankfully I have some around to blitz them! LikeLiked by 1 person Reply
Everyone knows the secret! Call in the Lady Bugs — or Ladybirds, as you call them. They will help to keep those aphids in check. LikeLiked by 1 person Reply
Yes, and they appear to do so. I have seen quite a few of the bugs/birds on the roses, so hopefully they will help to keep the aphid numbers down. LikeLike Reply
Wow!! This was really an amazing macro shot Pete! And this is probably a fraction of many aphids right now π LikeLiked by 1 person Reply
Thank you, Anita π You are right. This was on one small part of a rose bud of many which are coming out now. Thankfully there appears to be some ladybirds around as I don’t like spraying them. LikeLiked by 1 person Reply
Thank you, Jill π I have these little sap suckers visit every year and my roses appear to manage ok, thankfully. LikeLiked by 1 person Reply
