This is a small rectangle of my garden pond which has frozen over again. The textures, the palette, and the forms and patterns in this one small section make for a painting done by Nature herself.

lovely! do your underwater plants last all winter? I usually toss mine out thinking they would die.

Thank you, Vicki. I only made the pond last year, and already it has become fairly well established with aquatic insect larvae settled there. I have oxygenating plants growing underwater, and the roots and shoots you can see is Water Mint. I also have Marsh Buttercup and Yellow Iris, and they have died off for the winter. I just hope they come back again. The Water Mint has gone mad, and has sent roots and shoots off everywhere!
