Description of Adult
Forewing length 12-17 mm. The forewing of this caddisfly has a distinct notched outer margin. The sexes express dimorphism with differences in wing pattern.

Flight Season, Habitat, Status & Distribution
The adult is seen late April to June and August to October with a summer diapause. Found often in woodland in pools and streams. Common and widespread throughout Britain but scarcer in Scotland.
