Species Trichia botrytis (Pers.) Pers.
Sporocarp 1-5 mm tall, 0.6-0.8 mm in diameter.
Like tiny, brightly coloured light bulbs, the sporocarps (slime mould fruiting bodies) vary in colour from dull olive-yellow to reddish- or purplish- brown which are on a short stalks.
Seen during the autimn on dead wood. Fairly common and widespread throughout Britain.
