Wingspan 35-40 mm. The description of this moth is all in the English vernacular name, 3 distinct dark lines acoss the forewings. The larva feeds on various herbaceous plants. The adult flies May to July, and is found on woodland fringes, in hedgerows and on commons. Common and widespread throughout Britain, scarcer further north.
