Family Isotomidae (Isotomid springtails)
Species Isotomurus palustris (Müller, 1776)

Length 2.5 mm.

An attractive springtail with dark triangular markings on its back which point to the rear. It has a near continuous dark dorsal line. Isotomurus is a very challenging genus to identify correctly, so care must be taken.

Seen all year round, it feeds on dead vegetation. Discovered in various habitats, especially wet habitats like marshes, ditches and pond edges. Widespread and very common.
