Common Mallow – Malva sylvestris

The pink or purple flowers have distinct darker purple veins which really make this plant stand out. It is quite hairy with kidney shaped to rounded-heart-shaped leaves. It can grow up to 1.5 m tall.

It flowers June to September, and is seen on roadside verges, waste ground and in meadows. Common and widespread throughout Britain, except further north in Scotland where it is less so.
