Gardeners probably won’t like this one. The Netted Slug (Deroceras (Deroceras) reticulatum) is very much hated as a pest as it eats the leaves of many various plants and crops, including seedlings.

It also goes by the names as the Field Slug or Grey Field Slug.
I don’t mind slugs, perhaps because we get so few of them in our dry garden. These are good photographs.

Thank you, Anne 🙂 I get a few here in this damp climate, but they generally don’t cause me too much bother.

Can not stop smiling, all I see is a small pike in the first one. 😊

Wow, I have never seen one close up, fascinating. Thanks. Now I never have to consider picking one up ever again.

I grew up where slugs were common. Large slugs, several varieties. One avoided stepping on them when barefoot.
Then I lived in a drier climate where there were no slugs. I sort of missed them.
Now I’m living where there are slugs, but they’re tiny compared to those I grew up with. A nice compromise.
Thank you, for your ode to slugs.

Nicely said, Rebecca, thank you 🙂 Yeah, barefoot on a slug is not good.
