It’s not often that we see images of them from this perspective; usually they’re seen from above or from the side. The gills really make for a fascinating study.
The way the fungi attaches itself to the substrate (no stem) meant I couldn’t really get a good shot of the topside, but I much prefer the shell-like shape of the gills.
These look very attractive.

Although these are fungi, cute ones at that, they remind me of Diatoms.

The mushrooms in the first picture almost seem to glow against the dark background.
