These are as beautiful as any of the colorful trees. And you’re certainly right about autumn’s light; you’ve used it to good effect here.

Thank you, Linda 🙂 The light, as in winter, has a special quality about it, and it appears it make the sky a paler blue as well as washing the land with gold.

There’s a frequent taste of melancholy when the lush green bracken starts to fade to brown, and I’ve missed that transition at the lake. A few of the ferns here undergo similar changes in autumn, but they’re much more subtle.
