The Colours of Autumn

Bracken Pteridium aquilinum

I really enjoy the autumn sunlight. It is less harsh and more gentle on the eye and the landscape it illuminates. The light was a at the back of these faded Bracken (Pteridium aquilinum) fronds when I took the image.

  1. There’s a frequent taste of melancholy when the lush green bracken starts to fade to brown, and I’ve missed that transition at the lake. A few of the ferns here undergo similar changes in autumn, but they’re much more subtle.
