I really enjoy the autumn sunlight. It is less harsh and more gentle on the eye and the landscape it illuminates. The light was a at the back of these faded Bracken (Pteridium aquilinum) fronds when I took the image.

There’s a frequent taste of melancholy when the lush green bracken starts to fade to brown, and I’ve missed that transition at the lake. A few of the ferns here undergo similar changes in autumn, but they’re much more subtle.
These are as beautiful as any of the colorful trees. And you’re certainly right about autumn’s light; you’ve used it to good effect here.
