It is always interesting to see animals adapted to the urban environment. There is so much to pay attention to that may arouse interest in the “wild” nature
I have two fox squirrels and three grays staring at me right now, with expressions that clearly say, “Woman! Our peanuts are gone! Bring us more!” Would I come at the beck and call of a herd of squirrels? Well, of course.
Lol! Grey Squirrels have a bad reputation here as an invasive species which have pushed most of the Red Squirrels north. But I do like them when they pay a visit, even if they are nosy 🙂
I love squirrels and your image in this post is endearingly cute. Wish we had them here in Australia, but no such luck.
Squirrels are one small critter that I wish was brought out by the early settlers in the late 1790s, early 1800s. After all, you gave us Robins, Blackbirds, Rabbits, Foxes and similar little critters and birds.
Thank you, Vicki 🙂 Unfortunately the Grey Squirrel has a bad reputation here, not only as a pest, but as an invasive species which has almost wiped out our native Red Squirrel population. But I still enjoy seeing them and find their antics quite adorable 🙂
As an introduced species it is not always welcome here as it has displaced our native Red Squirrel. But still, I enjoy them when they visit once in a while.
We have a few different types of squirrels and they are all cute. One of them is a ground squirrel which looks very much like a chipmunk but a little larger. We have a bunch of them and they ate my perennial garden this year! I got a have-a-hart trap and have relocated 17, 2 miles away thus far. Hopefully I can have a garden next year!

So cute! I can’t get enough of squirrels in every form and species! Do you have any red squirrels left?

The Red Squirrels have all been pushed up north, and I have yet to see one, even though I have looked for them when I have travelled north.

They are all cute, but I would miss the red ones.

Perhaps he was. This was the first one I have seen this year in the garden.

Thanks for this. I’m missing our cabin ones; there are no squirrels here.

They can be demanding around here. Almost insisting on snacks. But so cute! Great shot Pete!

They do get used to people here, especially in parks where may be regularly fed. Thank you, Sandra 🙂

We had one that actually came up to the patio doors and tapped on them, I thought someone must have been feeding it.
