An Opening

White Water-lily (Nymphaea alba) – Nymphaea is Latin, which comes from a Greek term possibly referring to nymph or nymph-like, of a mythological supernatural spirit of nature, often described as a beautiful maiden associated with water, which would be very befitting for this delicate aquatic plant.

  1. Beautiful shot, Pete. There is something so pure and serene about white water lilies. Coincidentally, I too chose to feature water lilies today–in my case they were pink ones.

      1. The feel of a waterlily changes when it ages and begins to show its age, moving from pristine to a more gritty feel, still beautiful, but in a different way.
