Rasberry

Rubus idaeus – This image just goes to show how you can pass by so much without really noticing things. I discovered Rasberry today, growing wild off a narrow dirt pathway leading but a short few steps to the river. It was almost hidden by brambles and nettles, and shaded under willow, but here we have it. First time seeing it after 27 years of walking around here! Must have had my eyes closed half the time.

My aunt used to grow raspberries in her garden in Dorset. I remember the joy of picking them and eating them later with cream – a wonderful memory of a marvellous woman conjured back by your beautiful photograph.

Looks delicious! We had a raspberry bush at our previous home. The squirrels and birds enjoyed the bounty very much. Take care Pete!

Isn’t that fun to find something like that, especially raspberry’s. I love finding them at state parks sometimes when camping. Great on ice cream. πŸ™‚

That’s one of the best things about nature walks – there’s always something new to discover πŸ™‚

It’s easy to miss things that are common while looking for the less common. Otoh, maybe a bird pooped a seed recently and you didn’t see what hadn’t been there until recent years. πŸ™‚
