      1. The seed is easy to collect…just wait for the pods to brown and crack open a bit. A pod or two will yield many seeds. Most wildflowers are easy to collect and propagate by seed.

  1. Very interesting. One of our most common native wildflowers just now is the swamp rose mallow, Hibiscus moscheutos. As you can see from this article, it takes on both pink and white forms. It’s quite hardy, too — it stretches up the east coast, and isn’t confined to tropical areas.
