If I look just at the shell, Pete, it reminds me of a frosted pastry. However, I must confess that I have no desire to consume a snail, no mater how they are cooked or frosted. 🙂

Such a nice iridescent shell. Baby snail looks so soft and munchable to a probing beak, hope it avoids being on someone’s menu.

They are vulnerable at that young age, but nature has given them at least some protection.
