7-spot Ladybird (Coccinella septempunctata) – I have seen quite a few of these around the garden, and no doubt the sunshine and elevated temperatures have enticed them out of hibernation. Good news for the garden. This one was in the hollow of a curved leaf. Double-click image to enlarge.

Thank you 🙂 Yes, the sun is bringing life back to the land, and hopefully some cheer for us humans at this time.

Bugs are reappearing, a true sign that spring is here. Nice shot, Pete, of what I consider to be a “traditional” vice “exotic” ladybug (ladybird).

Thank you, Mike 🙂 I have even seen my first butterflies. The sun and its warming rays sure makes a difference 🙂

Such a pretty little ladybug. I remember as a kid, this was the only bug I was happy to have alight on my hand. 😍

Thank you, Sandra 🙂 He was hiding in the leaf and in the shade but I didn’t want to disturb him too much.

I love Ladybirds. To me, they’re as good as a four-leaved clover and ‘lucky’. Don’t know why. Maybe it’s the child within that loves these beautiful little insects.
In all my years of flower photography, I think I’ve only seen a couple though.

I have always loved ladybirds froma young age, too. I am very fond of them, and the old saying my Mom used to say when one landed on you. ” Ladybird, ladybird, fly away home. Your house is on fire, and your children are alone.” Somethings you never forget 🙂
