I found the larva to the adult above feeding on Common Comfrey (Symphytum officinale) on a walk along a local woodland margin back in the spring of 2012.

    What a beautiful distinctive moth, especially love that last close up with eyes and is the yellow loop it’s tongue? I have spotted the caterpillars before, there are nettles, brambles and comfrey aplenty near me.
