Nature’s Design

Garden Snail (Cornu aspersum) – A common garden snail we may have all seen at one time or another. I do have a thing about their shells, and shells in general. I love the intricate details, the patterns and earthy colours of this one in particular.

  1. I too like the pattern on their shells, especially with regard to shell’s architecture based on the Fibonacci sequence which, as I’m sure you know, shows up in so many ways in nature.

  2. Snail shells are interesting spirals and the inner chambers are cool as well. Most gardeners are not happy to see them but I wouldn’t mind finding one or two in ours. We do get plenty of slugs though.
