This monster of a cloud formation which dwarfed the land below as storms roamed the area at the time, is a form of cumulus cloud called cumulus congestus.

So hard to make clouds look like you see them โin your headโ, you did it. Nice.

Thank you. You are right there about seeing the clouds and trying to capture them as you see them.

These are summer clouds for us, so it surprised me to see this one. Then, I checked the date. May is about when we’d begin seeing them, too — and aren’t they marvelous? I love watching them on the days when they billow up quickly.

Yes, this is one from the archives, but they are marvellous to behold these billowing clouds.

It’s often worth a visit to the archives. I have a few languishing there myself, and they need to have their own time in the spotlight!

That is a huge cloud. Is that part of the enormous bombogenesis that’s happening in the North Atlantic?

This is one from the photo archives, and it was like movie armageddon cloud. I just love that word ‘bombogenesis’ … had to Google it lol! ๐

What an amazing sight. I’l be out the door taking multiple photos if I saw those clouds around home.

Thank you. Storm Dennis has wreaked havoc across the country, I am thankful I don’t live too close to a river or flood plain.

I understand that very well! Nowadays it is reasonable not to live close to water.

Whoa the scary and awesome power of weather as we have had our share this year with Ciara and Dennis. I have never known thunder in Feb before.

It has been really bad with the flooding for sure this winter. So wet and yet so mild, too, even nature is so confused.
