I’ve never seen this color; it’s exquisite. I know that some hydrangeas will hold their color as they dry. Do these? They’d make a stunning dried arrangement if so.
I’ve never fully appreciated hydrangeas in the past due to where people planted them, they always looked gaudy and somehow wrong, when in fact they are quite stunning. I love their colours as they transition. Even when they are faded they have a lovely antiquey quality.
When I was a boy my Mom and Dad always grew a hydrangea just by the side of the front door, and it always looked lovely in the summer, and I think those fond memories always draw me to these beautiful flowers. They can suffer in dry weather, so they always need plenty of water to keep them at their best ๐
Very pretty and vibrant Hydrangea macro, Pete!

What a rich deep colour. I don’t think I’ve seen any hydrangeas that colour before. It’s lovely.

They are bright pink during the summer then go this rich red in autumn, andd in winter they leach their colour. They are still pretty though.
