Thank you very much Linda. I was once again excited to discover these out in the woods, not far from the path where I discovered the previous pair. I wonder how many people had walked past these and never even noticed them poking their blushing heads from the plush carpet of autumn leaves.
Thanks Jude. Yours looks like a Cup Fungus of some kind probably from the family Pezizaceae. Never seen these before myself. They are quite fascinating.
Out on my walks I have noticed far more shrooms than usual. Maybe cos of our damp autumn or perhaps cos your pictures are making me notice more. Wonder if I’ll see any of Pete’s rosy bonnets today?
I love these colourful mushrooms! Never saw this kind of pink in the world of the fungus. At the moment I like to draw them and I can’t get enough of these beauties. I don’t know why, but they are appealing. After the dry summer came a lot of rain here and we have lots of different mushrooms now. A world of its own. Very nice pictures!!
I always find mushrooms fascinating. I think because they can be such a mystery, hiding dorment under the earth an then popping up in their unusual yet magnificent forms and colours. Thank you! 🙂
I discovered them for me this autumn / winter. We had such a good mushroom period the last months and I am still watching out for them. A world of its own as you describe it and I like these “little persons” or “individuals”, that grow so steady everywhere 🙂 But I will never be an expert 😉
Folk might think me strange but I always look forward and enjoy autumn and its many wonderous mushroom appearances. They certainly have their own lovely individual traits.
Even prettier than your last photo, Pete. These really are tiny treasures.

Lovely contrasts between the decaying leaves and the delicate, newly sprouted fungi.

Sweet little bonnets, Pete. The mushrooms we buy in the market are hardly good examples of the beauty fungi offer up.

What a beautiful colour that toadstool is.
I think you must have the most variety of funghi I’ve ever seen.
Thanks for sharing, Pete.
