Beautiful In Pink

Rosy Bonnet Mycena rosea

I believe this is Rosy Bonnet (Mycena rosea), very closed related to Mycena Pura, and in fact they may well be one and the same species.

I spotted this beautful pair in the local wood this morning as I went on my first mushroom hunt of the season. Muddy knees indeed!

Thank you Linda ๐Ÿ™‚ I have only seen them once before in my lifetime, and after yesterday I saw some fresh ones again this morning. The colours are quite special.

These wonderful mushrooms are a first for me also! I’ll bet they would be good for dyeing – if only a person found a LOT of them and could sacrifice a few to the dyepot.
