A Photographic Journey Through South Staffordshire and Elsewhere
Finding Shelter
Of 2 images. I was sitting in my living room looking out the window when I caught a glimpse of this butterfly as it searched and settled for some shelter between rain showers.
That is a Euonymus shrub which forms a mixed hedge which I planted quite some years ago now. The leaves start off green and become varigated over time.
Indeed it was Irene 🙂 And do you think I could find the butterfly once I was outside? Oh no, it was so well hidden, and I had to go back inside, peer through the window again to get my bearings!
Very nice! I always ask myself how these litte insects can fly in the rain. Not only butterflies, but bumblebees too. Every time I see it I think the thick raindrops must let them crash!
I think these are lovely images.

I’ve often found insects below leaves and flowers. Not only do they shelter from rain but also from the frost.

Nice! Worth the trouble of getting out of your comfy living room on a rainy day. 😊
