If I really had to pick one, this would be my very favourite damselfly. I believe this is a very fine and handsome male. I felt privileged to capture his picture, for they never usually allow you to get too close to them, or stay still for so long.

Thank you, Eliza 🙂 It certainly is a looker, and one I always delight in seeing, but rarely do. This was one of those lucky moments of being in the right place at the right time 🙂

That has to be the prettiest Damselfly I’ve ever seen and beautifully captured by you.
(i’ve only ever seen the common blue one).

Thank you, Vicki 🙂 I was really lucky with this one for it kept still, eventually, for I think they do get used to your presence, but not always and they will fly too far away for you to track them. But this one only few a short distance before settling down for me 🙂

Lovely colour and impressive shot Pete. I swear he is looking straight at the camera.

Thank you very much, Jude 🙂 They are normally very skittish insects, yet this one individual was quite a friendly chappy 🙂 Perhaps he was smiling 😉

If my arm was twisted, I’d have to agree with you. They’re so out of this world beautiful!

He flew off after taking a few shots and I thought I had lost him for good, but he settled down again nearby and allowed me this shot before flying off altogether. Thank you, David 🙂

He really is very beautiful. Damsels are so difficult to photograph, they are here, there and everywhere.

They can be quite a challenge with their constant movements but this one was quite chillaxed about the whole thing.
