A Photographic Journey Through South Staffordshire and Elsewhere
Common Vetch
Out in the fields yesterday a small patch of Common Vetch Vicia sativa, which belongs to the pea family Fabaceae, caught my eye. The buds were just beginning to unfurl.

Thank you, Vicki ๐ It had rained the night before and I had to get right down on the ground for that one, so you can imagine when I stood up I was quite damp, lol! ๐
We have a lovely vetch called deer pea. It’s an early bloomer, and is nearly gone now, as the heat of the summer begins to rise.

Lovely shot……(and at last, a plant we have in common. None around my local area though.)
