Mine was just grey aroudn teatime here. But it was still a super site to witness, especially when one considers the last one was 150 years ago.

With cloud cover at just the wrong time, we missed out on the super blue blood moon.

I am the only photographer I know that does not run out and ‘shoot the moon’… my wife certainly will. Very nice shot 😀😀. Takes the pressure off me 😂

It’s great fun to see images from around the world. I’m glad you had good viewing conditions — clouds always are a disappointment when these special occurences take place.

I was lucky the weather was clear, which makes a change for around here. But yes, I looked at other images and they have been pretty amazing from all around the world.

I forgot all about the moon, but my younger brother emailed me an image of the blood orange moon and it really does look like blood oranges.

It was for me, Pete. My brother has a very strong telescope, so he would have seen it easily, but I don’t know what he took the photo with.

This moon in your photo reminds me of the Super Blood Wolf Moon that happened on 20-21 January 2019 at North America, South America, Western Europe, Northwestern Africa. Beautiful, peaceful moon. This last few days I have been frantically on moon alert, and not been disappointed when it has poked out from sometimes heavy cloud cover.

Thank you, Jill 🙂 It was a beautiful and peaceful moon, and appeared to be at its largest on rising. I did see it about 3:00 in the morning, but although smaller, it was very bright and awe inspiring.
