Two Visions of Narnia

Visions of Narnia

I just stepped out the wardrobe, back from Narnia, where I have two visions. The top image is colour balanced via the shadows and midtones with a cutout filter added, the bottom image as I originally saw it with very little editing. Do you have a preference? Click on images for a closer look.

Perfect examples of how colour affects mood and “temperature”. Have you seen “Stranger Things”, Pete? The top photo reminds me of something you’d see in The Upside Down. (P.S. What’s a cutout filter?)

I have never seen the series you mention, so I had to Google out of curiosity. Thank you for the comparison, Sally ๐Ÿ™‚ A cutout filter is an artistic filter used in Photoshop to alter images, an added effect if you like, as the intial image appeared to me to be quite fairytale and I just wanted to elborate on it.

My own choice would be the second as I like b&w photography, but the top image definitely shows that extra magic can be created to specification. Both lovely in their own right, but obviously the ‘right’ image is the one you would be happiest with in line with what you wanted. ๐Ÿ™‚ We had rain overnight, think our bit of snow will be gone today.

This one was one those when I was not sure what I wanted, so I decided to do both in the end, leaving one as the original shot. Thank you for your lovely comment, Jill ๐Ÿ™‚

I did consider just putting out the single image and making it black and white, but decided to do the versions as seen. Thank you ๐Ÿ™‚ They are Silver Birch trees, and I have always loved their droopy branch nature.
