Clearly, having a garden is an advantage to a nature photographer. Sacrificing a few leaves here and there is a small price to pay for photos like this.
I have always been fortunate enough to have a garden, from boyhood to adulthood. And I believe my early interest in my folks garden is what got me initially fascinated and appreciative of the wonders and beauty of nature.
Yes, I do loose a few leaves, even whole plants sometimes, to these little critters, but they are part of an ecosystem where these support other life forms in the garden like frogs and toads.
