Quite A Long One

Limnephilus marmoratus

I have cropped these images in 4:2 ratio to show off the length of this insect. This is a caddisfly called Limnephilus marmoratus. I guess you can’t miss the extraordinarily long antennae. The wing markings are quite distinctive and help in identification amongst several similar species.

  1. I’m beginning to learn to ignore caddisflies to keep my frustration levels down because I can’t ID them especially when they turn up in the light trap. Had another one this morning that I did try but failed.
