Saying Hello

Dunnock Prunella modularis Juvenile

As I was pottering about in the garden this morning this little one suddenly appeared out of nowhere close by me. It is a young Dunnock (Prunella modularis.) It appeared quite inquisitive and didn’t fly far.

  1. I saw that little bird watching you and I thought how cute and I chuckled. Aren’t the little creatures in nature just a joy to have in our lives. Thanks for sharing this Pete – just wonderful pictures.

  2. It’s a bird I’ve never heard of! I thought to start with it was vaguely like a young robin. A pretty photo Pete!

      1. Well I had no idea the hedge sparrow had another name. They’re lovely little birds, quite retiring and shy, with the pretty dark stripes down their back.
