We just recently went on a walk where there were so many birds it was crazy! I went with my camera, but the other walkers were not as keen to stop and take photos. Perhaps another time. I would love to slow down and watch they play. They are amazing to watch.
Never saw one ”live” . My dad was thrilled when he discovered he had a pair begin to visit his small garden in Chester on a fairly regular basis a few years ago. I must remember to ask if he still gets such visitors
I’m not sure if it’s because I can now distinguish goldfinches by sound but there seems to be more around this year.

Yes, I agree, Paul. There do seem to be more around this year. I hear and see them out in the garden and the surrounding gardens quite often.

Thanks for the goldfinch – it brings a touch colour early in Spring to our garden on Tiree

They are only very small, but colourful with a beautiful song . This one was singing to the world, I think 🙂 Thank you 🙂

When I am with others on walks they are normally quite a way ahead whilst I am behind with my camera for company 🙂

Yep. Me too. I often get asked not to take it with me 🙂

That sounds so like me. But I can’t go for a walk without my Nikon just in case I miss something 🙂

I think they would hide it on me at some point 🙂 It’s okay. I try to hold their images in my memory instead.

Such a lovely bird. Wish we had some of them here in my country.

They are regular visitors to our bird feeders, I love to see them, especially when they bring their young to feed.

Goldfinches are my favourite wild exotic bird in New Zealand. Like little rays of sunshine!
