The Sun Fly Returns

Sun Fly Helophilus pendulus

The hoverfly, Sun Fly (Helophilus pendulus), is back and landing on rocks around my garden pond. It appears it may well be a regular visitor.

Oh, I wanted to tell you… Over the summer I am going to start a blog for my daughter’s photography. She actually has some amazing closeups just like yours although her equipment is not as advanced. I will share the link later, but she is incredibly excited. Her teacher suggested I start a blog for her.

That will be fantastic, Sumyanna! It will be great to see her macro photography. I will look forward to the link so I can follow! πŸ™‚

We are still struggling with a name… still trying to finish up school so my mind just isn’t in it yet. Hoping to get something started next week πŸ™‚ Thanks!

Thank you, Jude πŸ™‚ I also find they are sometimes quite curious about us and get quite close. I was sat on my decking near my garden pond when I spotted this one. And even though it knew I was there and quite close to it, it didn’t fly very far, but came even closer!
