I love the way the afternoon lowering winter sun turns everything into a golden glow. On my walk this afternoon I heard the squirrels calling across the woods, then spotted this one bathed in gold.

Beautiful! We only have red squirrels here in France and they’re not around much at the moment. Maybe sleeping more in the cold weather.

Thank you 🙂 We have red and grey here, but I have never seen a native red squirrel as most have been pushed further north by the greys. I think this one was enjoying a few warming rays of golden light and was just chilling 🙂
