I really like the tree in the first photo. It’s interesting how different your woods are from those in Alaska or in Oaxaca, Mexico. It’s also interesting that many lichen in both of those places and probably yours too, are the same.
Thank you, Marilyn. The tree has been dead for a while now, and is kind of eerie and atmospheric. It is amazing how we are all connected through similar species around the globe.
Thank you, Jill 🙂 The tree in question has been dead for a couple of years now, drowned as water levels rose and were sustained. Now the water has receded via added drainage.
Ooh nice eerie feel to them. Half expect the headless horseman to appear.

How lovely! I’ve mostly seen English trees in the summer, so it’s nice to get a December peek. Very atmospheric.
