I came across this mushroom on the edge of a woodland path growing amongst rotting leaf litter. Notice the tiny white flecks on the cap which are fine scales and the remains of a thin, fine veil.

Absolutely beautiful. I love a nice shroom. I took some photos on Friday of some crackers hidden away behind shrubbery along a canal. No one in my online mushroom group has been able to identify them either, which is very unusual. I’ll put them up in a post. You’ve inspired me!

Thank you, Dwight š I thought the roots gave the scene something of added interest, but almost never bothered in the first place because I thought they would be in the way and distract from the main subject! I am glad you liked it! š
