Thank you for your comment, Sonya. Yes, the thorns can be troublesome when pruning, but like hawthorn it can make a good secure hedge, and the white flowers are quite beautiful, attracting a lot of insects.
Thank you for your comment. I have them growing up the sides of the front of my house wall, and providing the birds don’t eat all the berries, they do look very bright and colourful.
We have the Pyracantha here as well I love the look of the berries but hate the thorns on the plant. Great picture.

Here’s something we share. It’s such a beautiful plant, particularly before the birds get into the clusters and make them less photogenic!
