Isotomurus maculatus

A strikingly patterned, violet-coloured springtail with yellowish markings. The long hairs on the abdomen are characteristic of the genus. Length 2.5 to 3mm.

They feed on plant detritus. Seen all year round, and tend to be found in sites of human activity, like gardens, and amongst leaf litter. Common and widespread.
